Daniel Stowe Conservancy
About
The Daniel Stowe Conservancy, long known as Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, is the 380 acre garden on Lake Wylie in Belmont, about thirty minutes west of Uptown. Themed gardens and fountains fill the grounds, alongside a glass conservatory of orchids and tropical plants. It is a full afternoon instead of a quick walk, and it changes completely with the seasons.
What to know
- A butterfly house opens in season.
- Forest trails run beyond the formal gardens.
- A full size wooden castle playground keeps children busy.
- Spring blooms and winter lights are the two peak times.
