Lake Norman State Park sits on the northern shore of the state’s largest lake, about 45 minutes north of Charlotte near Troutman. Thirty miles of trails include the Itusi mountain bike system, and there is a swim beach, boat ramps, cabins and a lakeside campground. It is the park to combine a hike with a swim in summer.
