Chief’s Modern Cocktail Parlor & Coffee Shop

Chief’s is Bob Peters’ second Charlotte bar, inside a reimagined mill house on North Davidson Street in NoDa across from the Johnston YMCA. It is a coffee shop in the morning, with pastries like an orange cardamom bun and monkey bread, and a modern cocktail parlor in the evening with small plates.

The house has a porch for watching NoDa go by and an interior that reads elegant rather than dive, which is a change for the neighborhood. Reservations are recommended at peak times; the bar seats are the best in the house.
