The Diamond is the Plaza Midwood diner founded in 1945 on Commonwealth Avenue. It is a retro room with a bar and a jukebox feel, and the menu runs from cheesesteaks and fried bologna through to the Small Block Burger. It is one of the last old Charlotte diners still doing exactly what it always did.
