Tacos El Nevado is the family run Mexican restaurant on South Boulevard in Collingwood. It started nearly two decades ago as a food truck and grew into two Charlotte locations, with the second on Central Avenue in Windsor Park. It ranks among the thirty best restaurants in the city by any measure, and it is also one of the cheapest on that list. Tortillas are made in house.

What to know

Start with the choriqueso, then order tacos for the table.
Asada and al pastor are the tacos to lead with.
The chicken quesadilla is the other reliable order.
The same family opened Sabores de Oaxaca on Central Avenue.
