The Belly of The Whale is the seafood restaurant that opened in 2026 on Colwick Road near Cotswold. It is a handsome hardwood and concrete room, and a bread cart gets sliced tableside and served with house butter. The menu changes with the catch. Service runs warm and attentive, occasionally to the point of hovering, and the kitchen is quick to take back a plate that misses. It is the new seafood restaurant the south side had been waiting for, and the menu will keep changing as the catch does. Reservations are worth making for a weekend evening.
