Tajhouse

Tajhouse is the upscale Indian restaurant and bar on Elizabeth Avenue, next door to Elizabeth Creamery. The room is striking, and the cocktail list includes a Taj House Tea alongside a proper Old Fashioned. The menu runs from honey chili lotus stem to a smoked makhani butter chicken and goat laal maas. Regulars call the Chicken Chettinad the best they have had anywhere. The bar takes cocktails as seriously as the kitchen takes the food, which is not common among Indian restaurants in this city. Lunch and dinner both run six days a week.
