Jetton Park

Jetton Park is the Lake Norman park in Cornelius. A 1.5 mile paved loop runs along the water, with small waterfront beaches, picnic decks, fishing spots, tennis courts and a playground. The views are among the best in the county. The loop is shaded and beginner friendly for a walk or an easy run, and restrooms sit near the waterfront hall and the playground. The whole park is quiet enough on a weekday morning to feel private. It is the best lake access in Mecklenburg County without a boat.

What to know

• It is the paddle board and kayak launch of choice for the north side.
• Swimming is not permitted anywhere in the park.
• A vehicle fee applies on weekends in season.
• The park was once part of a private estate, and the mature trees show it.
• Sunset from the western end of the loop is why regulars come.
