Substrate on East 15th Street north of Uptown is the wine bar with the art loft feel, all records, a disco ball and dried flowers, with unpretentious seating indoors and a patio outside. The list stays fresh and the staff teach instead of lecture. There is no kitchen, so you are welcome to bring food in, which regulars do from the pizzeria nearby.
