First Presbyterian Church Charlotte

First Presbyterian Church Charlotte is a Presbyterian congregation on West Trade Street in Uptown, on a block it has owned since the 1980s. The church describes its purpose as being for Christ in the center of the city and welcomes people of every background to worship and its programs.

The congregation’s property includes the 1927 Builders Building at 312 West Trade Street, a designated Charlotte-Mecklenburg historic landmark that the city ordered demolished in September 2026 for code violations, with a boutique hotel conversion proposed as an alternative. The church’s own campus is the largest church property remaining in the core of Uptown.
