Boogerwoods is a seasonal haunted trail on Phaniel Church Road in Rockwell, in Rowan County, run entirely by volunteers. Wayne Trexler started the haunt with his late wife, Robin, the Salisbury Post reported.
Guests walk in timed groups through scenes that mix comedy with scares, and the proceeds go toward a cure for cystic fibrosis, according to the haunt. Tickets are sold on site only, cash only, and parking is free.
