Mama’s Caribbean Grill is a Jamaican restaurant on Central Avenue in Plaza Midwood, opened in 2000 by Vinroy Reid, a Jamaica native who has also organized the Charlotte International Jerk Festival.
The restaurant is known for jerk chicken cooked over firewood, served with rice and peas and coco bread, along with curry goat, curry chicken, sorrel and Irish moss.
