About
Childress Vineyards is a winery in Lexington, in Davidson County, opened in 2004 by NASCAR team owner Richard Childress. Winemaker Mark Friszolowski joined in 2003, according to the winery, and the property has a tasting room, a gift shop, the Victory Lounge and a bistro.
More than 70 acres of vineyards at two sites grow 15 European grape varieties for more than 30 wines. Tastings range from a pick-five Champion Tasting to a five-wine pairing with tapas, and walking tours of the winery are also sold. Muscadine Burst won Best Muscadine Sparkling, Sweet, at the 2026 N.C. Wine Competition, according to the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
