K1 Speed Concord is an indoor electric go-kart racing center on Derita Road in Concord, off Poplar Tent Road. The California-based chain opened the center, the chain’s first in North Carolina, in June 2016, according to the company.
The building runs one 17-turn track with a straightaway, with adult karts that reach up to 45 mph and junior karts up to 20 mph. Drivers qualify by height, not age, and the Paddock Lounge serves food, with beer and wine for drivers 21 and up after they race.
