Coquette is a French restaurant on South Tryon Street in Uptown, founded by restaurateur Jill Marcus, who fell for French food during a year abroad in Brittany. The restaurant’s site calls Coquette a French buvette.
Executive chef Stefano Gallo runs the kitchen, and the menu includes duck-fat fried chicken, duck cassoulet, boeuf bourguignon and a three-course prix fixe lunch. Charlotte Magazine’s staff picked the fried chicken as the city’s best fancy fried chicken in 2024.
