Bobbee O’s BBQ is the casual barbecue and wings restaurant on Statesville Road in northwest Charlotte from owner Bob Roberts, who grew up in rural North Carolina, served in Vietnam, managed chain restaurants in Charlotte for years and opened his own place after retiring in 2008.
The wings come in four flavors, house made barbecue, spicy barbecue, hot or mild, and the barbecue sauce is the one to get. Brisket cooked right, thick mac and cheese, cornbread muffins, fried okra and sweet potato fries fill the platters, and the room invites you to stay a while. It caters large events too.
