Botiwalla by Chai Pani
About
Botiwalla is the Indian street food stall from the James Beard winning Chai Pani group of Asheville, inside Optimist Hall on North Brevard Street. It occupies a bright, loud, colorful corner with its own seating and restrooms. You order at the counter and pick up at the window. It works for a quick lunch or for a group that cannot agree on a single cuisine. The stall sits inside a food hall, so a group can order from four different counters and still eat together at one table. Prices stay low for the quality of the cooking.
What to know
- The lamb boti bowl and the vada pav are the orders.
- Gobi 65, grilled kebabs and a butter chicken thali fill out the menu.
- Turmeric lemonade is the drink to try.
- The chai runs mild compared to a proper masala chai.
- The stall is open daily from lunch through dinner.
