Cabarrus Brewing Company

Cabarrus Brewing Company is the large taproom and brewery inside Gibson Mill on McGill Avenue. Couches, a mezzanine event space and a beer garden give it more room than most taprooms, and the kitchen serves burgers, wings and bang bang shrimp. It is one of two breweries in the mill, with High Branch Brewing a few doors down.

What to know

• The Sour Drop and the vanilla coffee blonde are the beers to try.
• The room is big enough that a group can talk without shouting.
• Holiday parties and private events use the upstairs space.
• Everything else at Gibson Mill is within walking distance.
