Doors of Divergence

Doors of Divergence, an escape room and immersive theater company, opened at the Sugar Mill in Charlotte’s Belmont neighborhood in March 2026 after running the same shows in Brooklyn. Professional actors play characters from different eras, starting in the Paradox Bar before each show.

Two connected shows, Heresy: 1897 and Madness: 1917, run now in The Paradox Cycle, and the company says a third chapter is coming. Heresy: 1897 has two storylines and four endings, and Madness: 1917 changes depending on how a group’s first show ended. Madness: 1917 ranked No. 37 worldwide on TERPECA’s 2023 list of top escape rooms.
