First Ward Park

First Ward Park is the Uptown park on East 7th Street. A splash pad runs here that adults use as happily as children, and there is a playground, a concrete skate and obstacle area, outdoor fitness equipment and open lawns. The layout is clean and well lit, which makes it feel safe at most hours. Modern landscaping and fountains have made it a favorite for photo shoots. It sits close enough to Uptown offices that people use it on a lunch break, and a crowd never makes it feel packed. Families and skaters share the space comfortably.
