Flip-a-Lo’s is the locally owned wing, strip and stick shop in Carmel Commons Shopping Center on Pineville-Matthews Road in south Charlotte, previously named Flip’n Chicken. It is counter service, family friendly and focused on doing one thing well.
Buffalo is the most popular flavor, lemon pepper and garlic parmesan follow, and Flip’n Hot is the step up. Chicken wraps and salads, warm breadsticks while you wait, a mountain of fries, and a staff that hands out samples to regulars’ kids. Wing opinions in south Charlotte run strong and Flip-a-Lo’s has its detractors as well as its loyalists, which is the sign of a real neighborhood wing shop. It caters, delivers and does family size orders for game days.
