FreshCoat Grooming

FreshCoat Grooming is the newer salon on Thrift Road in Wesley Heights, in the same building as Azul Tacos. The salon is open seven days a week, which almost no groomer in Charlotte offers. The salon has built an early reputation for patience with anxious and difficult dogs, including an Alaskan malamute that other groomers had struggled with. Owners get asked what will suit a dog’s coat instead of being handed a menu. Short coated dogs can come in for a bath and nails without a full groom.

What to know

• Staff follow up after an appointment to ask how the groom went.
• The salon is walking distance for people who live in Wesley Heights.
• The salon has a shorter review record than the others on our list.
• Sunday appointments are available, which is rare.
