Growlers Pourhouse

About

Growlers Pourhouse is the NoDa pub on North Davidson Street from Jeff Tonidandel and Jamie Brown, the couple behind Supperland and Haberdish next door, with a rustic barn door entrance, a deep bourbon list and a kitchen better than a pub needs.

The Liquid Nitrogen Burger, American cheese, nitro muddled herb aioli, bread and butter pickles and gem lettuce served medium rare on brioche, is the signature. Hand cut fries feed two, the wings are strong, there are raw oysters, and the donut ice cream sandwich is the dessert. The room is smaller than it looks from the street and dark in the way a pub should be, with a bar staff that knows the bourbon list well enough to steer a first timer. It shares a block with Haberdish and Ever Andalo, the group’s other NoDa restaurants, which makes it the easy last stop of a night that started at either.
