The Harvey B. Gantt Center is the museum and cultural center for African American art, history and culture on South Tryon in Uptown. It is part of the Levine Center for the Arts and named for Charlotte’s first Black mayor. Galleries hold rotating exhibitions alongside a permanent collection, and the programming runs from panels through to performances.
