Maíz, Agua, Sal (MAS)

Maíz, Agua, Sal, MAS for short, is the Mexican tortilleria and agave bar on Jay Street in Wesley Heights from the owners of Craft Tasting Room and Lincoln Street Kitchen. Corn tortillas are pressed and cooked on a machine in view of the dining room, and the bar carries nearly 200 bottles, mostly agave spirits from Mexico.

The tacos, al pastor shaved from the trompo and steamed tacos al vapor, are the core, with pozole, mole, carnitas and gorditas around them, and brunch on weekends with churros, hibiscus mimosas and a French toast people rave about. The room is big, bright and built for groups.
