Ma’Luz Mexican Grill, formerly Mi Pueblo, is the University City restaurant on University City Boulevard with more than 5,000 public reviews, a beautiful large building, live music and an events and catering operation alongside the dining room.
Chicken flautas, an ACP with southwestern queso, a Mami Papi bowl, quesabirria and birria ramen, with Taco Tuesday specials and some of the lowest prices of any sit down Mexican restaurant in the city. It is Tex-Mex leaning rather than strictly traditional and portions on a few bowls run light on protein. Servers including Valentina, Julissa and Chris are named repeatedly for steering first timers through a long menu, the building handles large parties and celebrations easily, and the parking lot is generous, which matters on that stretch of University City Boulevard. Open seven days with late weekend hours.
