McKoy’s Smokehouse and Saloon

McKoy’s Smokehouse and Saloon is the barbecue restaurant and bar on Old Pineville Road in south Charlotte. The room is packed and loud, the owner checks tables himself, and the smoked wings get ordered about as often as the barbecue. Pulled pork is smoked over pecan and left unsauced so the meat carries the plate. Two table sauces sit ready, one sweet and smoky and one a Carolina vinegar mop. Collard greens, fried squash and cornbread are the sides regulars order without looking.
