Que Onda
About
Que Onda is the Plaza Midwood restaurant on Central Avenue from owners Mandy and Alex, in a restored older building with two floors, a downstairs bar, restrooms on both levels and its own parking lot, which is rare on that stretch.
Braised beer birria, salmon, a milanese torta, beef empanadas, a trio of dips and a hibiscus mezcal cocktail. Portions are large enough that a chip and dip special plus two entrées feeds three. Sunday brings $5 beers and half price dips. The same owners run Que Fresa in Wesley Heights. Service has drawn some inconsistent reports lately; the bar is the reliable seat. Closed Monday.
