Tacos El Nevado is the family run Mexican restaurant on South Boulevard in Collingwood that started nearly two decades ago as a food truck and grew into two Charlotte locations, the second on Central Avenue in Windsor Park. It is one of the 30 best restaurants in the city by any measure and one of the cheapest on that list.
Tortillas are made in house, the choriqueso is the right way to start, and the street tacos, asada and al pastor above all, and the chicken quesadilla are the orders. The family opened Sabores de Oaxaca on Central Avenue in 2026, a fast casual spot devoted to Oaxacan cooking.
