The Dog Salon

The Dog Salon is the grooming shop on Eastway Drive in east Charlotte, with more than 1,000 public reviews behind it. A viewing window lets you see straight into the grooming area, which puts a lot of owners at ease. Groomers Rebekah and Will handle nervous and elderly dogs well. Schnauzers, poodles, doodles and heavy shedding breeds are all routine work here. Clients of three years describe an old and temperamental dog leaving with his tail wagging every single time, which is about the best review a groomer can get.

What to know

• The deshedding service is the best in the city by most accounts.
• Bath, nail and anal gland services are available without a full groom.
• Each dog’s name goes up on a board, which owners find charming.
• The shop is closed on Sunday.
