Warrior Golf Club

Warrior Golf Club is the public course on a lake in China Grove, north of Concord. The course has some of the fastest and best conditioned greens anywhere near Charlotte. The lake setting gives nearly every hole a view worth pausing for. A clubhouse with a full bar and kitchen sits alongside five star practice facilities, and the carts carry GPS. Pin placements are demanding, and the back nine par threes play long from the wrong tees. The course hosts plenty of corporate outings and holds up well under a full field. The course sits about forty minutes north of Uptown.

What to know

• Pace of play is the recurring complaint, so book early or late.
• The course also hosts weddings and corporate outings.
• There is very little rough, which surprises first timers.
• A beverage cart is not always running, so bring water in summer.
