Zoewee’s

About

Zoewee’s is a Liberian restaurant on North Tryon Street, north of Uptown. Owners Swen Harmon and Konor Kandakai, who lost their first restaurant during Liberia’s civil war, had served Liberian food in Charlotte since 2007 when the Southern Foodways Alliance recorded an oral history with Harmon in 2017.

The kitchen is known for cassava leaf, palm butter, potato greens with smoked turkey, fufu, fried plantains and whole fried fish, and much of the business is carryout.
