Charlotte Ballet: Nutcracker

Dec. 4 to 23, matinees and evenings · Belk Theater, 130 N. Tryon St.

Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux’s production of Nutcracker with the Charlotte Symphony playing Tchaikovsky’s score live in the pit, three weeks of performances at the Belk Theater. A cast of around 100 dancers, the party scene, the battle with the Mouse King, the snow scene, the Land of Sweets and the Sugar Plum Fairy.

For a lot of Charlotte families it is the one show a year, and the run is long enough that there is a performance for every schedule: weekend matinees for the youngest kids, weeknight shows for a quieter house, and the final week before Christmas for the full holiday effect on Tryon Street. The program is suitable for all audiences.
