Quail Hollow

Built around Quail Hollow Club, home of the PGA tour stop, with quiet subdivision streets and the McAlpine Creek Greenway nearby.

Quail Hollow is the neighborhood around the Quail Hollow Club, the 1959 golf club off Park Road and Gleneagles that hosts the PGA Tour each May. The subdivisions around it went up in the 1960s through the 1980s: large houses on large wooded lots, with the fairways as the view for the lucky ones.

Where it is

  • Park Road and Quail Corners, the shopping
  • Pineville-Matthews Road (Highway 51) to the south
  • Sharon Road and Carmel Road, the other edges
  • McMullen Creek Greenway along the southern boundary
  • SouthPark ten minutes north

If you’re moving here

Quail Hollow is quiet, established and expensive: long driveways, mature trees, and one week a year when the streets close for the tournament and neighbors rent their yards for parking. It suits families who want the schools and a big lot, and golfers who want to live beside a course even if they can’t join it. The club is private; the public golf is in the golfer guide. Quail Corners and Highway 51 handle the shopping; SouthPark is the night out.

If you’re visiting

  • Come for tournament week in May; the sports calendar has the dates
  • Play the public courses in the golfer guide
  • Walk the McMullen Creek Greenway; the neighborhood itself has little commercial frontage, so the businesses below are the nearest on Park Road and Highway 51
