Speedway Christmas

The Southeast’s largest drive through light show, more than five million lights on a four mile course that runs around the oval, down pit road and through the infield road course, synced to music on 101.3 FM. You drive it at a crawl with your headlights off, on the same track NASCAR runs in May, past themed sections like the Jingle Jungle and the Magical Garden.

Drive in movies play on the giant Speedway TV on select nights, and the Christmas Village in the infield has Santa, food and a place to get out and walk around. It opens the Friday before Thanksgiving and runs every night into January, which makes it the longest running holiday event in the region.

Plan your visit

Friday and Saturday nights in December have the longest entry lines, sometimes over an hour. Weeknights early in the season are the move. Turn your headlights off once you are on the course and follow the passing zone signs.

Good to know

• Tickets are per vehicle, sold by date, with weekday passes cheaper than weekends. Express Lane passes and season passes are also available.
• General admission enters at the main gate at 5555 Concord Parkway South; Express Lane enters at 5197 Morehead Road.
• Tune to 101.3 FM as you enter for the synced music.
• Bring hot chocolate; you will be in the car a while.
