Noboru Japanese Steak House and Sushi Bar

Noboru Japanese Steak House and Sushi Bar is a Japanese restaurant on Chartwell Center Drive in Cornelius, owned by Martin Tanaka, who has more than 25 years in Charlotte restaurants and trained as a sushi chef in Japan. The restaurant took over the former Kobe steakhouse space.

Guests sit at a half-moon counter around the iron griddle for teppanyaki, and the menu adds sushi and small plates such as scallops, age-tofu and yakitori. The name means to ascend or rise.
