Charlotte Craft Beer Week
Ten days · Breweries across the metro
Ten days of special releases, tap takeovers, collaboration beers and brewery events across Mecklenburg and the surrounding counties. Charlotte has dozens of breweries now, from the big South End taprooms to one room operations in Matthews, Cornelius and Belmont, and Craft Beer Week is the one stretch when most of them put something on the calendar at the same time.
The organizing piece is the free Craft Beer Passport. You sign up, check in at participating breweries and events during the week, and earn points toward prizes. It is a good excuse to drive to the breweries you keep meaning to try, and a lot of the week’s best events are at the small ones.
What to expect
- Limited and collaboration beer releases across the week
- Tap takeovers, brewery dinners, trivia and live music events
- The free Craft Beer Passport with prizes for check ins
- Breweries across Charlotte, Lake Norman, Union County and Gaston County
Schedule
- Fri, Oct. 16 Week opens
- Daily Brewery events, posted on each brewery's page
- Sun, Oct. 25 Final day
Plan your visit
Grab the passport at the start of the week and plan a route. Breweries post their week’s events on their own pages in the days before it opens, so check the ones you want to hit.
Good to know
- Many taprooms are on or near the Blue Line, which makes a South End to NoDa crawl doable without a car.
- Special releases often sell out the day they drop. Get to the taproom at opening for the ones you want.
- Most events are free to attend; you pay for what you drink.
